He is currently a Senior Consultant in General Surgery, Minimal Access Surgery (including Robotic), Abdominal Wall Reconstruction & Trauma at Manipal Hospital (Bellandur), Sakra Institute of Kidney & Organ Transplant, and Manipal & Apollo Clinics in Bangalore. He also serves as National Faculty for NMC, DNB, AWR, and IIHMR programmes.

A strong advocate of health-tech innovation, Dr. Prasad has a keen interest in Data Science, AI, and Machine Learning, and is a recognised educator and speaker who has served as Chairperson at multiple surgical CMEs and conferences.
